"I walked into Kate & Kole with a few ideas up my sleeve but no real clue about engagement rings. I was welcomed in by Mikaela who guided me through the process explaining everything to me along the way. Mikaela made it very easy to make a decision and I left with confidence in my chosen ring. The Kate & Kole team were very confidential as I wanted my proposal to be a big surprise. Kayla reached out to me when the ring was ready to collect, before Soph and I’s big Europe trip.

I kept the ring in a pair of socks in my backpack for the first few weeks of our trip, until we reached Greece. I knew I wanted to propose on our 5 year anniversary in Milos, so missing multiple flights the day before and almost not making it out of Turkey really did not help the nerves.

I had a very sleepless night running over my lines, and trying to solve any change or problem that may arise in the morning. We woke up before the sun on the morning of our 5 year anniversary. We drove to Sarakiniko beach for sunrise, our favourite time of day. We found a private little ledge on the cliff, overlooking the water and horizon. The sun had not risen yet but the sky was lit up. I set up my phone for a ‘time lapse’ which was actually a video.

I knew this was the time, as the sun started to rise we came together so close that I knew Soph could hear my heart beating (extremely fast). Yep I was rattled. My practiced lines came out in single words, as I forgot how to speak. I reached into my pocket, while slowly dropping to one knee, looking up into Soph’s beautiful eyes and asked the ultimate question a guy could ask a girl. Thankfully she said yes and the Kate and Kole ring fit perfectly.
